Osterferien 2025 - Eintrag 4 - Öddelig und trotzdem warm

Heute war das Wetter richtig öddelig. 8°C, grauer Himmel, Dauerniesel und Regen am Abend. Kein Laufen (Rest day), kein Kitefoilen, überraschenderweise trotzdem 8142 Schritte, ungefähr 5,9km, gegangen.

-----------------------

Today the weather was really dreary. 8°C, gray sky, constant drizzle and rain in the evening. No running (rest day), no kitefoiling, but surprisingly still walked 8142 steps, about 5.9km. If you have to walk between 200 and 300m to the toilet, ONE way, that's a lot of distance. There was also only one dog walk in the morning and one in the late afternoon, which I had to force Piccio to do. She didn't want to go out at all, sat stubbornly in her seat and nobody could make herself interesting enough for her to get up voluntarily.
Yesterday we went kitefoiling anti-cyclically when everyone else had already dismantled (and the wind had dropped), today we got caught up in the cyclical Easter Saturday shopping traffic. We just had plans that needed to be done today.

We - three nice people from SUS (Surf- und Skiclub Hanse) - wanted to replace the stolen rain barrel, install an outdoor double socket and buy materials for the caddy extension - the DIY store was our destination. Everyone else wanted to buy groceries as if there was no tomorrow and as if there would be no stores open tomorrow - bathing regulations - but well, you have to shop for Easter. We're right in the middle of it. A bit silly, but as I said, we wanted to get something done. By the way, we think Burg should be car-free.

And I have to say once again how great it is to be on the board of this association. There are so many ideas on how to make things even nicer and better and everyone usually thinks it's a good idea and supports and helps out. It's just wonderful and a lot of fun.

Now Busplatz 3 also has an outside power socket (I sacrificed my hat to the dirt and lay half under the caravan in the rain, my right trouser leg is still wet), the planters are getting new, bunny-unattractive plants and the rain barrel is already 10 cm full of water again.

My next, bigger project for the club is a wind measuring station down at the kite spot. The beach bar is involved, we are allowed to erect a mast on their container, get electricity and the bar gets a display with weather data. This display uploads data to weather servers and we then put it on our homepage. Zack - you always know how strong the wind is blowing.

Warm is how I would describe the team spirit here at the club.
The four games of Rummikub at lunchtime were also warm. It was impossible to do anything other than sit in the heated awning.
Reading in the bus in the afternoon was warm.
It was also warm to plug in the sockets and sit together in the awning afterwards.
I was no longer warm myself, however, as the dreary rain had drained the last of my remaining warmth, but that is changing right now, here in the warm bus under the woollen blanket.

The sun is supposed to come out again tomorrow. Everyone here is looking forward to it.
