Well, no one told me just how to get there
But when I get there I'll know
'Cause I'm taking it
Step by step
Bit by bit

Oh, I won't let my spirit go
Until I get to my destination
I'm gonna take it slow

You've got to hold on to what you got

Oh, baby, don't give up
You've got to keep on moving on, don't stop (yeah, yeah)

----------------------------------------------------

Beware, it's getting a bit cheesy. But you shouldn't take yourself too seriously. Here we go:

Well, no one told me just how to get there
But when I get there I'll know
'Cause I'm taking it
Step by step
Bit by bit

Step by step - the theme of the day, the theme of my skiing adventure and perhaps the theme of my entire coming of age. It's little moments like these that could be seen as big signs from the universe: Today there was loud music playing on the practice hill at Hotel Harmony. That's not really my world, too many additional stimuli and therefore energy-sucking. But the song selection was okay and on the way back to my bus, the last song playing was Step by Step by Whitney Houston as a sign of the universe.

Oh, I won't let my spirit go
Until I get to my destination
I'm gonna take it slow

So slow that Garmin thinks it's the lift on my descents...

“And what about the break?” - Don't worry, I took it and it was very necessary. My head was overloaded with ski thoughts, my body tired and hungry. I stayed on the bus and enjoyed the view.

It was beautiful and freezing cold. So I stayed on the bus and, as I said, enjoyed the view:

My energy levels were slowly returning to normal and I was able to drive to the afternoon training session. I had been given a new exercise to do: Yesterday I had been invited to the campfire. I was kind of expecting a big campfire with lots of people around it, but no, it was a Dutch couple who had lit a small outdoor stove under the canopy. So the three of us sat outside. Thanks to the crossover with my kite world, I was very cozy and warm. I had thrown on the dryrobe, the huge, teddy fur-filled sack coat that you can put on over anything. Lisette made a note of the brand straight away. Lisette and Roben are also here for a week to ski, but they are already very good at it and so Lisette gave me training tips. They made my head spin. On the practice hill, I spent almost an hour overthinking Practicing Lisette's new movement, what's the difference to what I practiced before, are my skis already parallel, is there still too much snowplough, are my legs too far apart, am I bent too far, too low at the knees and what in God's name do I look like? - One thing I should pay attention to, please, because you could train yourself into a lot of shit. I then found out that Lisette's tutorial was also all about when to put weight on which leg. And fuck all of you who think you can judge my appearance.
At some point it dawned on me: what would it actually be like if I started to trust myself?

You've got to hold on to what you got

To trust myself that I have already acquired a few skiing skills. Just let things flow a little and trust that everything will still remain within a controllable range. And feel more than think. Press the shin slightly forward against the inside of the ski boot. If I can feel that, I'm on the safe side, then the turn will work. And that's how I got into a bit of flow, my fear on the steep first section became less and less and I can let go on the flatter part. Nice. And then, when I even thought about using the edge more so that I didn't drift so much, which worked really well, I had a near miss with a child who came hurtling down from behind. Great, I creped a left turn, grabbed myself and the flow was history. Then down the slope a few more times, Whitney Housten, the end.
Lisette and Roben were in Svatý Petr today, balled many routes on and off-piste and also tested the blue 4, with the nice nickname Turistická. He says the route was very good and not too steep either, 2.7km, a bit longer than the beautiful 18. That's the plan for tomorrow and then with a bit more confidence in my abilities.

Oh, baby, don't give up
You've got to keep on moving on, don't stop (yeah, yeah)

Step by Step - Whitney Houston
