Osterferien 24 Abschluss
Aber was solls: Fail, Fail again, Fail better.

Where is the happy ending? All's well that ends well. The prospect of a colorful future, the glimmer of optimism or at least the silver lining on the horizon? What about the demons, are they supposed to have triumphed in this story?
ON
NO
ANYWAY!
As long as I can still move my fingers on my laptop, I am the master of my narrative.
And it seems to me that I have a few readers who are really interested and I therefore owe them a conclusion. So that the book of the Easter vacations can be closed and put on the shelf with satisfaction.
Just as the story is not yet finished, there is still a pile of stuff from my bus in the living room waiting to be put away. Yes, a week after the start of school. The problem is that these are no ordinary travel items, no, they have long since been packed away, washed and put back on the bus. These are things that I no longer need on the bus. However, until I had the desire and energy to take care of such nice things again (tidying up, clearing out, sorting), it still took quite a bit of work, or rather: non-work.
After a short visit home, I drove back up to Fehmarn. On the second weekend of the vacations, we from the SUS had planned a terrace construction project so that we would finally no longer be sitting in the mud or on a desert of dust, but would have a nice place to be. Even nicer, even nicer every year. Oh, and why not also lay a grass grid so that the coaches can stand better and, above all, can drive off the pitch even in muddy weather, which we had a lot of this year. The week before, I had to help push a van out because the tires were spinning in the mud.
With lots of strong, energetic and outstanding team players, we overcame the challenges. Building, barbecuing, chilling, sleeping.
The next day was windy. We set off on the water around midday and I thought to myself: I don't even know if I want to do this... but the desire will certainly come when I do it, for sure. So I put my stuff together (the foil) and packed it, put on my swimming trunks (you're not naked under a wetsuit) and then I sat there in the bus and thought about the right preparation. I was actually hungry and then it slowly hit me, like a fine drizzle gradually seeping through my clothes...
What would actually happen if I didn't recover at all by working to capacity, i.e. doing and doing all day? What if I was simply totally exhausted and that's why the demons at home had it so easy?
School was really exhausting until the vacations and then I immediately went off on my own through France like a crazy person.
And what component of relaxation am I actually missing?
Recreation through new impressions - check. Recreation through doing - check. Recreation through sport - check. But why didn't that work? Why wasn't it good? The idea sounds great, a two-week road trip through France. Is there perhaps another component that I had overlooked? Something like: Recreation through resting, sitting around, doing nothing, literally? Isn't the word “rest” also to be found in resting?
Oh my God, instead of resting, I had burned out, leisure-burned out. Wow. What I couldn't do in everyday life, I can do all by myself in my free time. That's something, isn't it? No children, no relatives to look after, endless freedom and I manage to jump into my back all by myself so that I land with my face in the mud. Wonderful. In my defense: It's not just stupidity, the in-house demons have a hand in it too. But what the hell: fail, fail again, fail better. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time something like this had happened, but hey, I'd say this time it could at least result in a learning success.
From Monday onwards, I just sat in my bus, looked out of the window, went for a dog walk after lunch, that was it for the day's activities and surprisingly, things were clearly on the up. No, actually not surprisingly. Becoming human is always the most difficult part.
And so it was that on the day of my departure, I had not only prepared the lessons for the coming week, but also assessed 120 website projects (nicely surrounded in small portions by doing nothing from Wednesday to Saturday) and then felt like sorting out my bus. And this pile of things that had a place in the bus but didn't belong anywhere here is now lying in my living room.
And it's going to stay there for a while, because it's just too exhausting for me to do it all the time. I'd rather just sit here like this.
It feels wonderful.
