Osterferien 24 Tag 3

Ostern

(english below)

Easter

Oh, an Easter lamb born today.

Oh wow, look what a great breakfast view I had today. Sunshine and a view of the sheep meadow. To my left the donkeys, behind me various types of geese, a black swan has two chicks and is swimming in a huge puddle.

Chickens run around among the torn open bread bags flying around. Behind the pile of rubble I see white peacocks. The baby lamb is with its mother in a huge hall, in which there is a small, green lake. The peacock cock is sitting on a perch in another hall. I can only see him after I have walked past the huge pigs in what are still large sheds. However, you would sink knee-deep in mud in the sheds, the only dry spot is where they lie, or is that not mud at all, but excrement? And what about the mountains of paper waste in the back corner of the first hall and all the rusting trailers and agricultural equipment and then the container-sized shed into which bulky waste and electrical appliances have been dumped and at the back there are obviously people living in something like garden sheds, but with Mercedes outside the door. I'm actually living on a garbage dump and I'm camping in the visitor parking lot for the farm store. It's a mixture of nice - the store - practical, and whatever. I don't think anything is being maintained either. Oh yes, the obligatory scrap cars are also parked around the back. And no, you won't get any pictures of this disaster, it's enough if I have the pictures in my head.

The man at the farm is extremely nice, there's nothing to say. He has two yard dogs that are always trotting around, but Piccio was introduced to them for safety's sake and then there are two kennel dogs that he has now taken out. Before that, he knocked and let me know so that I could take Piccio for another pee. They're not facile...

Yes, what can I say, somehow a very strange mixture of nice people, but... I don't know... are somehow in such a mood that they don't care about all the garbage. Don't care? Or resignation due to being overwhelmed? Or unproblematic in their world?

Oh yes, and thanks to the rain - we sat out a thunderstorm on the bus before the hike today - everything is dirty and muddy. Piccio is now called Stinki and Drecki, and so are my shoes. At least farms have outside water connections. And the sanitary area was definitely cleaned twice today. Apparently using the water hose method, but it looks clean and smells slightly of chlorine. After all.

Tomorrow we're definitely going to a campsite. I've just about had it with farms. I'm sorry, that just sounds incredibly arrogant or middle-class-academic-bubble-like, but I want to have something nice now, even if it's just a place that's meant for camping and a path without/with hardly any dirt and mud.

It was really good that I slept in until 10!!! Summer time, but still! That's really special for me. The plan not to do anything big and not to drive any further was good in itself, but at some point doubts arose, I started to brood in my head and while I was cleaning my shoes again, I allowed myself to find this place actually strange/stupid/incongruous/unpleasant.

Here you can see Drecki on our hike. The picture in front was not Versailles, but built by the architect of Versailles. Komoot claimed I could start a hike there, in the front, down the back of the site and then through the woods. Google Maps gave even more paths and even the map of the estate (10€ entrance fee) was wrong and all possible paths were unusable. All the maps took the piss out of me, but you could easily walk 5km on the estate, then the people annoyed me too much and the other 5km were really through the woods. It was really nice there. I like real forests and when I do, I like people who are in the forest to hike and not weird families who go on weird family outings.

And then there were even rocks there that were obviously marked for bouldering, similar to Fointainebleu.

Just checked the weather and oh - heavy rainfall has led to flooding in France. No wonder everything is muddy here.

And I'm also annoyed that it's still so far to the Mediterranean.
