Herbstferien 23 - VII

Better safe, than sorry - ist meine Devise.

~~~
So, das Ding läuft.
Fühlt sich irgendwie beruhigend an und irgendeine Art von Stress fällt ab.
Es ist zwar völlig überfüllt, aber das kann ich ja ändern.
~~~

16GB hat das Teil, jetzt sind wieder 4 frei. Updates laufen. Beruhigend.

~~~
Wie gewonnen, so zerronnen. Das Ding lief, erbat ein Systemupdate, was ich ihm großzügig gönnte und danach war es auch kaputt. Startete nicht mehr. Boot-Dauerschleife, wie beim Fairphone auch, aber aus anderen Gründen. Toll. Ich merkte, wie sich mein Nacken zusammenzog und anfing, weh zu tun. Scheißteil. Fluch und Segen der Technik. Aktuell ein Fluch. Nervig. Ich konnte es hardresetten und in den Auslieferungszustand bringen, aber dadurch konnte ich nicht mehr mein altes Signal- und Threema Konto verwenden. Jetzt habe ich Instagram als Übergangsmessenger. Ich bete zum Universum, dass das Ersatzteil morgen funktioniert. Plan C: Einen Kollegen mit Fairphone fragen, ob der meinen Akku laden kann, um im Notfall Dinge auslesen zu können, falls das reicht, um das Telefon zu starten. Ich hatte mich schon gefragt, ob ich den Akku irgendwie über mein Drohnenladegerät laden kann. War mir dann aber erstmal zu kompliziert. Ich hoffe, die Geduld wird das Problem lösen.
Immerhin kann ich jetzt wieder Duolingo von einem Handy aus machen, anstatt mit dem unhandlichen Ipad. Außerdem müssen die Sonderapps runter vom Schulipad, wenn ich damit morgen wieder was in der Schule machen will. Da soll keine Instagram Benachrichtigung aufpoppen, wenn ich gerade wichtige Dinge in Mathe erkläre.
Und damit war's das auch schon wieder mit den Ferien. Schade. Jetzt habe ich mich gerade dran gewöhnt und nun muss man sich schon wieder umgewöhnen. Ich hoffe, die Chaoswelle wird morgen nicht so groß und dann ist Dienstag auch schon wieder frei.
Expectations and reality
I went home from Denmark a day early so I could get sorted on Sunday. I had expected a day completely full of school. So much would have to be accumulated and left undone that I would get to nothing but school, school, school today. So my brain pictured the worst case scenario. This is often annoying, but actually very practical. I rarely get behind, always get my stuff done on time, and I never actually miss anything when I'm out and about. On the contrary, I always have too much with me. Better safe, than sorry - is my motto.
So it was also today with the school stuff: It's just noon and thanks to time difference only 12:25 instead of felt hour later. I've already corrected 15 math workbooks, and that even with patience and attention, dealt with all the emails and sorted out a few things. There is a lack of preparation for tomorrow, but that won't be a problem.
A round of laundry is in the machine, I've vacuumed, swept the hallway, been outside with doggy, dried a kite, unpacked a bag and started to deal with a topic long mystical to me: What is the fastest way to solve the Rubik's Cube. There are different approaches and one of the fastest I'm going to take a look at. For that I will go to Nessler tomorrow and buy a Cube. Then I have other ideas in my head that I've wanted to do for a long time and I realize that the vacations have done me good in the end, because otherwise I wouldn't have this will to realize. Now I just have to be careful not to overwhelm myself with the many ideas that all seem possible at the same time. So one thing after the other.
And then there's the matter of the broken cell phone. I haven't had a cell phone since Wednesday night, and today is Sunday at noon. It's not detoxing or decelerating, it just sucks. I can use most apps via Ipad and use Signal via PC, but it's still just different. Annoying. Gear grinding. Online banking? Nope - I need the app on my phone to confirm. Paypal - nope, SMS confirmations needed. Annoying. Found a very old phone in the drawer, which is charging and then I ran into my old Galaxy 5, which is also charging now. The banking app won't go, but at least I can receive SMS again. I can't really explain what it is, because I don't really make phone calls. But I miss being able to quickly text friends or talk on it. Or just having the ability to do that quickly. I miss the connection to the community.
Let's see if the Galaxy is already charged enough to start it with sim card.
~~~

So, the thing is up and running.

Feels kind of soothing and some kind of stress falls away.

It's completely overcrowded, but I can fix that.

~~~
16GB the thing has, now 4 are free again. Updates are running. Reassuring.
The Fairphone is already disassembled and has been liberally sprayed with electronics cleaner, I hope the bottom module was the problem. However, inside the phone I found water spots in another place. It's a mystery to me where those came from, but oh well, let's hope the core module isn't damaged.
~~~

Easy come, easy go. The thing ran, requested a system update, which I generously granted it, and after that it was also broken. Did not start anymore. Continuous boot loop, as with the Fairphone, but for other reasons. Great. I noticed my neck tightening up and starting to hurt. Shitty thing. The curse and blessing of technology. Currently a curse. Annoying. I was able to hard reset it and get it to factory default, but that prevented me from using my old Signal and Threema account. Now I have Instagram as a transition messenger. I pray to the universe that the replacement will work tomorrow. Plan C: Ask a coworker with Fairphone to charge my battery so I can read things in an emergency, if that's enough to get the phone started. I had wondered if I could somehow charge the battery via my drone charger. But was then too complicated for me for now. I hope patience will solve the problem.

At least now I can do Duolingo from a cell phone again instead of the bulky Ipad. Also, the special apps need to get off the school ipad if I want to do anything with it at school again tomorrow. I don't want any Instagram notifications popping up when I'm explaining important things in math.

And that's it for the vacations. Too bad. Now I just got used to it and now you have to get used to it again. I hope the wave of chaos won't be so big tomorrow and then Tuesday will be free again.
