Verschiedene Leben in einem Leben - 18. und 19. April 2023

My life is very simple at the moment. Wake up when I want, walk the dog, have breakfast, do something or not, have lunch and do something else I want. For the last three days, it's been foil in the afternoon. This morning I started with the necessary errands for the day of setting up the campsite. The previous necessities were reduced to food supplies. On Saturday, however, a big action is planned, to which I will contribute necessary things.

This includes going home tomorrow, Thursday, and then having just under 2 days to do what feels like a huge pile of necessities. I don't like the leap from doing nothing to doing everything.

And it's always the same: the first few days of the holidays are weird to crappy because you go from doing a thousand things to banging into the "nothing to do wall". This holiday I had cushioned it with meticulous spring cleaning, but that also drove me crazy. Then escape by bus and even there it takes me a little while to get used to the other life. But at some point it's there, no stress, you "manage" two activities a day, not hundreds as before: one in the morning, one in the afternoon. And it's wonderful.

And then the other things pile up imperceptibly in an imaginary bucket and suddenly shoot over the edge and I think to myself:

Oh no.

I don't want that. Too much to do, too many little things to think about, the thousand pieces of life dumping their puzzle pieces all over me. Create, do, make, finish, tick off the list. I'm not ready for that yet.

There is one thing on it that can't be done: practising the piano for our secretary's farewell. Practising is never over and the malaise consisting of a rather difficult solo part creeps up the spine.

Experience has shown that it usually turns out less bad than expected and my plans actually always work out.

Still, change is not always easy. The change from complex, full life, to simple life and back again is not done in a flash and a melancholy spreads that mourns the end of simplicity.

And: I really don't feel like having an alarm clock at all.
